Hong Kong University MBA



The University of Hong Kong is incorporated under a Hong Kong Ordinance (Chapter 1053 of 1964). The vision of HKU is to produce well-rounded graduates with long life abilities to provide leadership within the societies they serve.

Full-time MBA Program
It has partnership with London Business School and Columbia Business School. 9-month study in Hong Kong to learn core courses that focus on regional and China business and 3-4 months study at London Business School/Columbian Business School. However there is nothing for exchange students.
HKU MBA has been known world-wide and ranked 37th among the world’s top 100. The teaching system of HKU is study case to give big chance for students become problem-solvers and decision-makers in quickly changing business world.

The Faculty of Business and Economics is fully accredited by EQUIS (European Quality Information System). The fee is HK$ 315,000 payable in 3 installments over 1 year.

Admission for Full-time MBA

  • Recognized undergraduate degree
  • Minimum 590 GMAT score
  • Minimum TOEFL 600 (paper based)/250 (computer based)/100 (internet based) or IELTS band 6.5
  • At least 3 years of full-time work experience (as on July 2008)

Part-time MBA
It can be completed in minimum 2 years and maximum 4 years. The class is held twice till three times a week either on weekday evenings or on Saturday afternoons. This course has four essential themes critical to the success of multinational and regional firms in Asia today:

  • Strategy for doing business in China and the region
  • Accounting, financial control and corporate governance
  • Information technology and business transformation
  • Managing people and change

It has managed in relationship with Fudan School of Management to combine their strength in business. The fee is HK $ 238,000 payable in 6 installments over 2 years.

Admissions for Part-time MBA

  • A recognized undergraduate degree.
  • Satisfactory GMAT score. Applicants with more than 7 years of full-time experience might be exempted from this requirement. Exemption, if any, will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Applicants with qualifications from a university outside Hong Kong where the language of teaching or examination is not in English are required to obtain a minimum TOEFL 550 (paper based)/213 (computer based)/80 (internet based) or IELTS 6 band with no subtest lower than 5.5. * Test scores more than two years old will not be accepted.
  • At least 3 years of full-time work experience (as on September 2008).

MBA Scholarship for Japanese to study in Hong Kong
The HKU has set up scholarship for Japanese in encouraging to study in Hong Kong and this setting to promote Internalization of HKU. Applicants must be students of HKU. An MBA candidate who is successfully awarded a scholarship will receive up to a maximum of HK$200,000 in total to be applied to his/her tuition.

Alumni
Any graduates of HKU is automatically become a member of this association. This association provides networking the old students between recent graduate.
