How to Winning MBA Admission Interviews



Interview is a good way to show your competence to MBA admission committee. Do not be frightened, nervous, or dizzy.

Of course, every business school has different priority in interviewing their applicants. So be sure to find out what the process is at the schools you’re applying to. You can see some policies that offered by schools:

  • Encouraging all of their applicants to interview prior to the application deadline
  • Using interview by invitation policies
  • assessing a candidate’s communication skills, passion, charisma, and their ability to effectively communicate a message
  • School wants to know, why do you want an MBA? What are your future goals? And, essentially, why is this particular school the one for you?

After you know what policies that the school used and what the need of the school, you can step to face interview. It is different with writing. It needs speak aloud and clear in pronunciation. There is no way but practice before you speak.

Talking to make discussion with your friends about your path, plan in the future, and dream can be helpful way to get success in interview. You also have to realize if there is admission committees that hold a blind interview. It means that they do not care about your applications and they just consider your speak showing yourself, path, and plan.

Other preparations to get interview is to know the school’s essay questions. From a personal question, the school can catch your response spontaneously and then how strong you can consistence to your response.

Remember that interview is merely associated with conversation. It is not impossible to make common mistakes such as saying fixed descriptions of what they want to say that it’s no longer a conversation, but a regurgitation of things they’ve memorized. These are not useful neither in short response nor the blank deer-in-the-headlight look.

Another common mistake is going on and on talking about accomplishments but not allowing the conversation to form. Sometimes interview makes candidates feel pleasant to answer and vice versa.
The fact says that candidates are very nervous to get interview. Try to make a joke if it is needed and if it is possible. The most important thing that you have to do is just be you self and understanding to yourself. Do not try to be more than you are. Believe in your conscience belief.
