International MBA (IMBA), University of Hong Kong



The Faculty of Business and Economics was created through the amalgamation of two schools — the School of Business and the School of Economics and Finance. This school has been got accreditation from EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) and reach rankings: University (international)18th Worldwide, University (local)1st in Hong Kong, and MBA 2nd in Greater China Region, 2007, 37th, Worldwide, 2007.

MBA Program

The MBA is a program in corporation of International University of Hong Kong with Fudan University of Shanghai. This program is designed flexible for participants who shall get degree of MBA and have to commit in their work.

For part-time in Shanghai, students please to attend the classes twice a week. The program emphasizes regional applicability, professional relevance, and innovation.

The length of course is not less than two academic year. To complete the course, students must follow the curriculum that offered by the school and actually there are core and elective modules which must be taken by them.

A typical student is in his/her late twenties or early thirties with five to six years’ post-university work experience.

EMBA-Global Asia

It is designed for managers who want to know and understand the culture of western and eastern business area. EMBA Global Asia was established by London Business School and Columbia school. Then they expand network to HKU Business School to give Asian’s students opportunity in understanding world business and get this world-class program

You are given opportunity to study wherever you are but you should expect to commit between 15 and 20 hours a week to personal study. You can see the timetable here. Success students will get degree from London Business School, Columbia School, and Hong Kong University.

You also can choose other location of AMBA-Global. These Schools provide EMBA-Global Americas and Europe next to EMBA-Global Asia. For course structures are the same each other. The different are just the place to study and culture each place. The Fee is US$132,840.

Loan for EMBA-Global students

  • The HSBC-London Business School Loan Scheme – students may be eligible if they are resident in the UK throughout the duration of the program. Applicants do not need to be UK Nationals.
  • The US Federal Stafford, Federal PLUS and Private loan Schemes – American citizens and permanent residents can apply for Federal Stafford loans.

Admission Requirements

  • shall hold a degree of this University or another qualification of equivalent standard from this University or from another university or comparable institution accepted for this purpose;
  • shall have attained a satisfactory level of performance in the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT Minimum 590 score), GRK or equivalent; and
  • Shall be a manager who can provide evidence of successful business experience of at least three years.
  • Obtain a TOEFL score of 550 or above in the paper-based test, or 213 or above in the computer-based test.

Tuition Fees
The total program fee for the 2008 intake is RMB110, 000. The tuition fee will be paid by two installments for part-time study in Shanghai.

Alumni
The School offers free membership to former students. This association has vision for its members are to provide value-added opportunities and services to members and in other hand facilitate and enable alumni to develop and maintain the keeping touch with university.
