MBA Programs at Tanaka Business School, Imperial College London



Located in the heart of London between South Kensington and Hyde Park, Imperial College’s Tanaka Business School is served well by London’s public transport system. You can reach by bus, car, train, air, and underground. The MBA programs
By taking Tanaka MBA School you will:

Tanaka MBA school offers you three modes of study: Imperial: full-time, part-time weekdays and part-time weekends, giving you a chance to choose a mode of study that suits you and your career.

Imperial MBA
An Imperial MBA is an intensive one year program that offers a powerful mix of structured learning and the practical application of knowledge and skills. You begin with theory and then spend much of the program applying that theory in practical exercises – this is the most effective form of learning. You are fully equipped to become an outstanding business leader. It has some study programs: Core courses, innovation, Entrepreneurship and Design (IED), elective course, Project, Optional elements:

  • Professional Development Programme
  • Entrepreneurs’ Challenge
  • Adjunct Professor Masterclasses
  • Industry sector clubs.

The Imperial MBA program is a programme which recruits high calibre individuals with the talent and motivation to become effective management leaders in their chosen careers. Applying is made on line with US$150 in fee and can be paid on line.

Imperial Executive MBA (weekdays and weekends)
The Imperial Executive MBA (EMBA) is designed for those of you who want to accelerate your careers while continuing to excel in a demanding job, to provide you with the highest degree of flexibility and choice. There are two modes of study:

  • Part-time weekdays: starts each December, 24-month in length, and £34,250 – December start.
  • Part-time weekends: starts each April, 21-month in length, and the fee is £37,000 – April 2009 start. (Fee is touchable)

Distance learning MBA for Doctoral Program
You can use The Imperial College Distance Learning MBA to study with one of the world’s leading universities from wherever you are located geographically. The program’s modular structure gives you the ability to be flexible with your studies and your work schedule. The fees for the study are as follows: Registration Fee £2,100, 7 Core modules £14,700, 1 Specialization £2,100, 1 Research project £2,100. There are some specializations offered: Telecoms Management, Health Management, Investments and Risks, Customer-Focused Strategy, and Entrepreneurship.

Admission of MBA
IELTS: A minimum score of 7 including a score of 6 or better in written English. TOEFL: A computer minimum score is 253, internet score is 98 (minimum 25 in the written section and 23 in the speaking section), and minimum score of 610 including a minimum score of 4.5 in written English. You must take interview. A GMAT score of 600 or above is essential for all applicants. And there is special requirement for professional qualifications as member of ACCA, fellow with CIMA, etc. (No GMAT for Imperial Executive MBA). For EMBA, you can take (Special Qualifying Examination) (SQE) via exam that consist of two essay papers, a quantitative methods exam, and a viva.

If you do not hold a first degree, but have extensive suitable work experience, you may be eligible for an alternative entry route to the Executive MBA programme via this examination. The exam consists of the following:

  • two essay papers
  • a quantitative methods examination
  • a viva.

The Students
The International Office at Imperial College London deals with international issues and students from outside the UK. We provide a range of services to international students, including support and preparation for students before their arrival and during their studies and visa and immigration advice. We also support College in its international activities and promote it around the world.
