The Manchester MBA, Manchester Business School
The combination of the Institute of Innovation Research (IoIR), The Victoria University of Manchester’s School of Accounting and Finance, UMIST’s Manchester School of Management and Manchester Business School in 2004 produces a school as we know Manchester Business School.
The MBA Programs
Full-time MBA
Its program, which can be compared to a two-year program MBA in US or Europe, runs for 18 months, starting each September. It has program structures:
- Diploma stage – 13 courses (210 credits)
The aim of the Diploma stage is to equip you with the tools for analyzing management problems. Each core course credit comprises 30 hours’ class time. Teaching methods include lectures, case studies, tutorials and group project work. - MBA stage – 8 courses (150 credits)
The aim of this stage is to allow you both to put into practice what you have learned during the Diploma stage and to deepen your knowledge in specialist subjects.
The fees of full-time program are different:- Home student (UK/EU)* £27,160 = €40,740 = US$48,888
- Overseas student £31,260 = €46,890 = US$56,268
- Conversion rate used £1 €1.5 : £1 US$1.8 : £1
The students can also register by scholarship that given MBS itself, company, or regional scholarship.
Part-time MBA
The part-time program is designed for global executives to contribute in one of the worlds most rigorous MBA programs, and the schedule is depend on the student’s work schedule. It focuses on leadership, innovation and internationalism. A sport specific stream is also available for one whom working in sport or major event management. Part-time MBA has some study programs:
- Manchester Global MBA
- MBA for Construction Executives.
- MBA for Engineering Business Managers.
- MBA for Financial Managers and Finance Professionals
Experiential learning
Covering a Group Internal Project, Strategic Management (with project element), Live Company Project and Personal Reflection, this MBA delivers practical learning based using real-world business challenges.
Collaborative working
The face-to-face residential workshops provide extensive networking opportunities with other experienced managers. Each module contains a three-day, intensive workshop at Manchester Business School.
Parallel career development
The students will benefit from the same award certificate as the Full Time MBA students, in 24 months and without putting their career on hold.

Fees
Tuition fees for the Manchester Global MBA program commencing September 2008 are £19,200 that can be paid in 6 installments of £3,200 payable at the start of each trimester (4 monthly periods). Its fees are touchable.
Scholarship
- All candidates who apply and are offered a place are considered – there is no additional scholarship application process.
- All candidates who have already applied and been accepted on to the programme prior to this announcement for 2008 entry will also be automatically considered.
- Please note that any application will only be considered for scholarship when:
- Your application is complete (including any test scores)
- You have formally been offered a place on the 2008 Full Time Manchester MBA Programme.
Student life
Living space
Most new students choose to live in halls of residence which works out cheaper than a flat. You get freedom and the chance to meet new people, so you won’t feel lonely there.
Having fun
You can go out and have fun after your hard studies. Manchester is a lively city buzzing with events, cinemas, clubs and bars.
Responsibility
It is your business to arrange your time but make sure if you attend and always get new information.
